What a wonderful week it has been thanks to a number of great events I had the pleasure of attending.
This included the opening of the new cinema at Cooinda House and our executive visit to the Redcliffe Community Health Centre.
Cooinda blockbuster
I want to thank everyone who planned, created, supported, built or was a part of the creation of the Cooinda House Cinema.
This is truly an amazing cinematic space which will be enjoyed by families and residents for many years to come.
As Belinda Sawtell has so eloquently said:
“The cinema has the potential to create lasting lifelong memories among or residents and their loved ones.”
Thank you so much for putting the patient experience at the heart of what we do!
At the opening of this amazing cinema, we saw some memorable movie characters attend the red-carpet gala event including Mary Poppins, Morticia Adams, Clark Kent, Snow White, Men in Black, Dorothy, Ghost Busters and a choir of nuns and monks.
I will share more photos and details about the fun in the Voice of Redcliffe publication which will be released next week – so please look out for it!
Our Redcliffe Shining Stars
On the same day as the cinema opening, we had the opportunity to acknowledge our August Shining Stars at Redcliffe Community Health Centre. Congratulations to:

They were all deserving winners of the August Shining Star Award – Well done! Please view the Voice of Redcliffe publication next week and find out why they were nominated.
A big thank you – For nominating your peers! We have had a record number of nominations for our Community and Oral Health Staff Excellence Awards this year and next week I will announce all of our nominees once the process closes today. As you may be aware, the deadline for submissions in this year’s Metro North Health Research Excellence Awards closes this coming Monday, August 28 at 5:00 pm. Eight different award categories are available, from those celebrating cutting-edge and world-first projects to recognising those who enable research excellence and researchers collaborating with our consumers. Please don’t miss this opportunity to make sure that our teams are recognised for their research excellence. |
COH Enterprise Scheduling Management (ESM) update
As announced earlier this week, the timeframe leading into go-live for Enterprise Scheduling Management (ESM) across Community Services has been extended by two weeks, with the go-live date now scheduled for Monday 20 November.
This additional two weeks will also allow the Metro North ieMR Program time to facilitate additional site pre-works, enable further time for staff training to be completed, as well as provide an opportunity for staff to keep learned knowledge fresh by completing practice activities prior to go-live.
This additional lead time prior to go-live will not change our timeline for training. Training for Community staff who will be using ESM will commence as planned, with online prerequisite training available to complete from Monday 28 August 2023.
If you have any questions, please contact the Metro North ieMR Program team via email at: ieMRProject-MetroNorth@health.qld.gov.au.
