The Shining Star Award

For staff or teams who excel at their job and who are doing great things to support the care we provide. For staff who are compassionate, look out for others, who go above and beyond, and play an important role in our great teams.

The Shining Star Award is primarily for peers to nominate their colleagues or other teams and are for the quiet achievers who excel, but don’t ask for recognition but usually they deserve it.

COH Shining Star – Sarah Scott, North Lakes Health Precinct

While we have a taken a little while to kick off our Shining Star awards at Aspley this month – I just want to highlight one of our shining stars who has been great things this year.

“A special shout out to Sarah Scott, who deserves some recognition for the amazing work she has done in the months leading up to (and during) the ESM rollout.

“Sarah’s commitment and hard work, particularly in the earlier stages when she first came into the Principal ESM Advisor role, has been pivotal and I honestly believe that without her expertise, organizational skills and leadership we would not have been in a position to go live with ESM when we did.

“I have watched Sarah lead the way with building relationships, establishing processes and empowering her peers in that space. I’ve witnessed her publicly take ownership of other people’s mistakes on more than one occasion and I think that is a rare quality.

“Sarah is a very genuine person with fabulous leadership skills who has gone above and beyond to prepare COH for ESM.

“I see her continue to work hard on a daily basis without looking for accolades; which is why I wanted to give her a special mention.”

Our journey toward Health Equity funding

  4. Influencing the social, cultural, and economic determinants of health.
  5. Working with First Nations peoples, communities, and organisations to design, deliver, monitor and review health services.

Our Chief Executive has committed an annual allocation of funding to strengthen our efforts towards Our Journey Towards Health Equity.

All services are encouraged to put forward a funding application that align to priority principles of eliminate institutional barriers, re-shape the system, transform care and strengthen the workforce.

A final shout out

For many of us the job we do and how we respond to challenges on a day-to-day basis can become second nature and easily navigable.

Over a 30-year oral healthcare career, it has become clear that Belinda Klumpp is one of those people who has innate organisational ability, as well as very strong (but understated) planning skills and knowledge.

Belinda, who is a Senior Dental Assistant at the Kallangur Dental Clinic located at the Satellite Hospital, was a key player and seamless operator in the transition of the clinic from the Pine Rivers Community Health Centre.
