Tanya Beaumont, Acting Executive Director

The staff awards and celebrations continued this week with our Length of Service Awards at Brighton and local Shining Star Awards at Aspley Community Health Centre.

It is always wonderful to be able to acknowledge the great work and commitment of our teams.

Firstly, I want to thank everyone who has been involved in supporting the Metro North Clinical Governance undertaking a Peer Review in Community and Oral Health (COH) which appears to have run very smoothly.

This has provided us with a great opportunity to continue to understand areas of concern, along with showcasing all of the great work that you undertake each and every day.

Thank you again for providing kind and safe healthcare every day to our patients and consumers.

Acknowledging our Aspley Shining Stars

We finally had the chance to head out to Aspley and congratulate some of our monthly Shining Stars – one of the first awards for the year.

Congratulate to all of our winners and nominees. Winners of our monthly shining star awards at Aspley Community Health are:

Elly Thompson and some of the Rapid Access to Community Care team.

Central Patient Intake Unit

Avicia Lupson, Acting Senior Administration Officer – For her positive infectious attitude and open management style that creates a great team vibe.

Central Patient Intake Unit – For their dedication and commitment, putting our patients first and managing incoming referrals and keeping them in check even when there are significant external challenges.

Our next shining star awards will be at North Lakes so please get your nominations in via COH-Communications@health.qld.gov.au – more detail will be provided soon.

Things we missed – TMS phone support option

The People and Culture TMS phone support pilot is still running for COH staff and there has been a very positive response so far.

Staff who have used this service have been pleased with the zero-wait time and having their queries resolved in an average of six minutes!

If you have a TMS enquiry you can still log a ticket via IT Support, however, I encourage you to call the support line on 1800 275 275 in the first instance and trial this new service. Your experience and any feedback you have will help inform if, and how, this service might be rolled out across Metro North once the pilot ends on 30 June 2024.

A show of appreciation – Children’s Oral Health Service

Children's Oral Health ServiceWe receive many compliments each year about the services provided across our directorate, and many for our great oral health teams.

Recently, one of our oral health parents brought in some lovely flowers for the team to just say thank you.

The flowers were on behalf of their 17-year-old daughter, who required complex treatment in preparation for orthognathic surgery.

Well done to the orthodontic team who provide exceptional service at the Children’s Oral Health Service

Please don’t forget your flu shot

Tanya.
