As we emerge from the devastating impact of the recent Brisbane flooding and continue to transition towards living with COVID, I would like to thank you all for your tireless efforts in stepping up to respond to the challenges and ensuring uninterrupted healthcare for our community. 

Many will have heard that David Rosengren will move into the role of Acting Chief Operating Officer for the Queensland Department of Health from Monday of next week. We wish him well in this important role and look forward to having him back with Team Royal before too long.

It is a privilege for me to again step into the role of Acting Executive Director and to support you, the amazing team that delivers such incredible healthcare every day. Dr Andrew Redmond will support me as the Acting Deputy Executive Director during this time. Many of you will know Andrew, an Infectious Disease Physician, from his recent leadership of our COVID response at RBWH. Andrew will continue to provide this COVID clinical leadership as the Deputy ED.

RBWH is blessed with a committed and capable team of experts in every field. While we face regular change and complex challenges, please be reassured that we have a clear strategic direction and our intention, to be an innovative world class healthcare provider, does not waver.
