Tier three – bed capacity

RBWH is currently on Tier Three due to an acute shortage of bed capacity across the hospital.

The Incident Management Team has been activated.

We are experiencing a high level of demand for beds at RBWH today. We ask all staff to focus on clinical priorities and facilitate discharges where appropriate.

All wards are requested to accept one over census patient within the next hour to decant and disperse the current load in our ETC of patients for admission.

All inter-hospital transfers are to be approved by a Consultant and must be registered on the IHT Portal.

Please ensure that community services are considered and optimised and escalate any discharge delays to Patient Flow Services.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to our patients

Cheers
