Gillian Nasato, Acting Executive Director, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital

As you know, Metro North has successfully recruited Louise Oriti as our new Executive Director for RBWH. Many of you will know Louise through her role as Executive Director at Redcliffe Hospital where she has led the team since 2016. Louise brings to us a wealth of knowledge and health executive expertise and she will be a great asset as the leader of Team Royal. I hope you will all join me in warmly welcoming Louise as she commences in the role on 22 February 2023.

I would like to thank you all for providing me with the opportunity to lead you as the Acting Executive Director for the past year.

It has been my absolute privilege to guide us through some really tough and challenging periods such as our COVID-19 response, floods, RBWH Realignment Business Case for Change and so much more.

Throughout these milestones, challenges and celebrations, the thing that has shone through to me is the strength of our teamwork across this great hospital. When something great happens, the first thing our staff tell me about is the amazing team behind what we do – not just an individual. It’s heart-warming to see our staff raising each other up and demonstrating that hospitals aren’t just places for doctors and nurses to excel. They are also a place for PSOs, administration staff members, allied health, food services staff and so many other professions to make a difference to the lives of our patients and their families.

I am personally and professionally proud for all that has been achieved and all that is yet to be realised through your ongoing commitment to our strategic goals.

I will be taking some leave over the next number of weeks and I look forward to returning to my Deputy Executive Director role.

Warm regards,

Gillian.
