Louise Oriti, Executive Director

Happy New Year and welcome back to all those who were able to take some leave over the holiday period. For those of you who worked through, thank you. Your dedication to caring for our community is much appreciated. This is a great time of year to reflect on your personal and professional goals for the year and to put some plans in place to ensure a happy and healthy 2024. We have a busy year ahead and I’m looking forward to sharing our achievements with you as it progresses.

Short Notice Accreditation

As you will now be aware, we have received notification that the short notice assessment for the RBWH will begin Monday January 15. A team of 12 will visit over the course of next week, assessing our facility against the eight National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. Another assessor will focus on the Clinical Trials Governance Framework.

This is a great opportunity to highlight the positive work we do each and every day. We are confident the teams are well prepared and look forward to receiving the outcomes from the assessment.

More details on the assessment team are expected shortly and a timetable for their visits will be distributed as a priority. For any queries or assistance, please contact the Safety and Implementation Service team via RBWH_SIS@health.qld.gov.au or 07 3646 1546.

COVID

As you know, COVID and other respiratory illnesses are still largely present in our community. We actively encourage staff and patients to wear masks, particularly in clinical areas, and to be vigilant of hand hygiene. If you are experiencing respiratory symptoms, please do not come to work and if you have COVID please comply with the current guidelines. A reminder, the new COVID booster vaccinations are available. For more information on vaccination recommendations, visit the Queensland Health website.

Thank you to you all for your work in caring for our community.

Kind regards,

Louise.
