We’ve had some amazing news this week. The Queensland State Budget was delivered on Tuesday, and it included a considerable investment in hospitals and healthcare across Queensland.

For us here at Redcliffe, the State Budget included a commitment of $1.06 billion to fund an expansion of our hospital. That expansion will include, among other things, 204 new hospital beds. This announcement was one of several for Metro North Health, and I encourage everyone to read more about them.

The expansion of Redcliffe Hospital will be the next chapter in our hospital’s story, and I look forward to talking more about what comes next very soon.

Thank you to everyone who has been involved in the Detailed Business Case for the expansion so far. That work has contributed to where we are now. All of that consultation and groundwork will ensure that the decisions we take now, will be the right ones for the future of our hospital and our community.
