Did you know that the Caboolture Square Shopping Centre vaccination hub has delivered more than 32 000 vaccinations since it opened to the public in August?

Even more impressive, this result does not include the many mobile sites also supported by this service.

The centre has been a popular central location for the community to receive their vaccination after the service quickly outgrew its initial location at the Caboolture Hospital library.

It continues to be the most successful off-site vaccination facility in Metro North Health and hosted a successful First Nations people clinic for several weeks.

Assistant Director of Nursing Emergency Operations Connie Gray thanked staff from Caboolture Hospital and other facilities across Metro North Health who had worked at the centre and provided just over 800 vaccinations per day during busy periods.

“Thank you to all of the hardworking health staff who have worked tirelessly with patients and behind the scenes to ensure our community is protected against COVID-19,” Connie said.

“They took time away from their busy regular jobs at the hospital to ensure our community could be protected during the pandemic.

“Staff from this centre have also been involved in many mobile clinics at local schools, local events, Bunnings stores, including more than 200 vaccinations each day at Morayfield State High School during the initial super vaccination weekend.

“With the Federal Government’s recent announcement of a third booster shot for all Australians, I’m hopeful we can keep the facility open longer and run more mobile clinics, which will ensure that we can provide this added protection for the Caboolture community.

” Vaccination is the key to our lives returning to normal without lockdowns and the freedom to move around, including interstate and international travel.

“The Doherty Institute modelling shows if you’re fully vaccinated, you’re at least 86 per cent less likely to catch COVID-19 and pass it on to someone you love (compared to an unvaccinated person).

“Plus, if you’re fully vaccinated, your chance of dying from COVID-19 falls by at least 90 per cent, compared to an unvaccinated person.”

The Caboolture Square Shopping Centre vaccination hub is located at 60-78 King Street, Caboolture.

It is open from 8.00am to 3.30pm Monday to Saturday for booked appointments and walk-ins. Metro North Health staff receive priority when attending. Phone 5431 9999.
