More than 50 per cent of CKW staff completed the Have Your Say survey in 2021. Teams have been busy working on their action plans and it’s great to see some of the initiatives that have already been implemented.
- The CKW Building our Future Workforce Nursing and Midwifery Leadership Development Program kicked-off in December 2021. Using feedback from the Have Your Say survey and a subsequent workshop with nursing and midwifery managers, the program began with sessions on Compassionate Conversations and Positive Performance Management. Further development sessions will continue throughout the year.
- Using funding provided by Metro North, the tea rooms on the medical wards have been rejuvenated with new lockers, flooring and other improvements to make them more comfortable spaces.
- The Care4You Peer Responder Program has grown, with more than 30 staff across CKW now trained in Psychological First Aid. These volunteer roles have been particularly important during the COVID responses with Peer Responders supporting their colleagues through this challenging time.
- The Values Based Recruitment Coaches have been recruited and trained. We now have 12 staff members who can support managers through the recruitment process to ensure we find and onboard the right people, with the right values and behaviours.
We will continue to grow and improve to make sure this a truly great place to work.
