There was a lot of support for our 2019/2020 Registered Nurse Graduates who finished their first year of work following study.

It was great to celebrate with our talented 2019/20 graduates who have finished their first year as registered nurses at our Community and Oral Health facilities.

Eight of 12 graduates were on hand to be acknowledged by the Metro North Board and senior staff from across Metro North and Community and Oral Health at a ceremony recently.

The Registered Nurse graduates have spent their first year completing their university studies in rotations across our bedded services at Brighton, Zillmere, Red Hill and Cooinda.

Registered Nurse Graduate Marion Lovett was one of those nurses who had graduated from the Central Queensland University, and undertook rotations at Cooinda House and the Brighton Rehabilitation Unit.

“I liked both rotations as they were both different, the Rehabilitation Unit rotation helped me to improve my clinical skills, while at Cooinda House it was a rewarding in many ways to be supporting residents,” she said.

“I found it was a very friendly environment at Community and Oral Health and included a great bunch of people to work with.”

Marion previously worked at Community and Oral Health for the past five years as an Assistant in Nursing and Enrolled Nurse in Community Palliative Care, and more recently supporting COVID-19 quarantine testing.
