Both residential aged care nurse unit managers have been demonstrated stronger leadership in a challenging environment. This has included being super responsive to COVID and ensuring all staff have been vaccinated.
Residential Aged Care Director Belinda Sawtell said not only has COVID been a focus, both have been responsive to the ever-charging landscape of aged care including leading the team to change practices in response to the Royal Commission.
“The NUM role in aged care is complex and never ending,” she said. “Both have been able to maintain a strong team focus and work towards changing the culture within both facilities.
“They have embedded positive changes that empower the team and are the driving focus in displaying the values in actions.
“They lead at the bedside and this has enhanced the resident experience at both facilities.
“Due to the enhanced compliance requirements in aged care, both NUMs maintain effective safety and quaintly standards and are accreditation ready every day while maintaining focus and resilience.”
