It was heartening to hear the great news about Tania Pearce, one of our former Brighton Brain Injury Service patients, moving to her new home at Wynumm West, and being closer to her father, Bob.
Both will be dearly missed by our staff who have got to know these caring and important friends of our service over the last few decades.
Both became great advocates for us to do things better at Brighton Brain Injury Service, and their words and advice have been instrumental in helping us reshape our service so that we are putting our patients’ first.
We owe a lot to Bob and Tania, but also to all the families, patients and residents of the old Jacana Brain Injury Service, who have contributed to the service’s story and helped us continually improve the care we provide.
We wish Tania and Bob the greatest joy as they take the next steps in their lives.
In this edition of the Community and Oral Health Express we showcase some of our shining stars – the Special Needs Dentistry team and Zillmere Residential Transition Care Service.
We focus in brief on NAIDOC Week celebrations, plus we just can’t stop putting the spotlight on our award-winning gardeners.
But, finally I want to continue to thank all of our staff across the directorate for their hard work and strength as we continue to deliver a high level of care.
Each one of you is making a difference and contributes to the work on the frontline, no matter your role.
Please keep looking after each other as we continue to make Community and Oral Health a great provider of care and great place to work.
And, let’s get behind all of our Shining Stars by nominating them for a Community and Oral Health Staff Excellence Award.
Nominations close 5.00 pm Friday, 27 August 2021.
Thank you,
Glynis Schultz
