Our Metro North friends roll up their sleeves
Metro North executive and staff rolled up their sleeves to pitch in and help with the rollout of our new vaccination clinics.
In June, we saw our Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer Alanna Geary on the floor supporting the vaccination effort.
Oral Health’s Mario de Silva and Chief Allied Health Practitioner Mark Butterworth also put their hand up to help out on weekends.
And, we also had a special visit from our Chief Health Officer and Minister.
Our first patient at Brighton
Congratulations, Chris MacIntyre from Centercare Aged Care who was the first patient to receive a jab at our Super Saturday Vaccination Clinic at Brighton Health Campus.
Greeting the community with a smile
Our concierge, operational and administrative service staff are at the front of our COVID-19 response – and we can’t thank them enough.
The smooth running of our vaccination clinics are in no small part because of this A Team!
It’s a team effort on the vacs floor
Our vaccinators and pharmacists are special multi-disciplinary bunch who have come from service lines and facilities across Metro North Health.
They are managing, dispensing and administering the vital vaccines.
And, at the end of June the number of vaccines being administered across our four sites have reached record levels.
IT step it up a notch
The eHealth Queensland team deserve all the accolades for their work behind the scenes at our Vaccination and Assessment Clinics. A job well done!
Something we couldn’t pass up!
Even the rain couldn’t stop them, the Continence Expo at Brighton was another corker!
Visitors were treated to Tai Chi, a fabulous potato salad food demonstration by our own Claire Harrison, as well as an informative session delivered by Continence Australia.
Our regular guests and barbeque gurus from the Sandgate and Districts Men’s Shed were also on hand to help out.
Rebecca wins prestigious scholarship
Congratulations Rebecca for being awarded a scholarship from the Lowitja Institute, Australia’s National Institute for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Research to do Project Management.

She is a Service Improvement Officer in the Health Innovation and Research Team based at Brighton Health Campus.
Our swabbing heroes do it again
Close to 600 swabs in one day – staff from far afield ramped up the effort at our Community Assessment Clinic at Pine Rivers – what an effort!
Hotel quarantine get the job done
Our hotel quarantine crew have it tough at the moment but we take our hats off to the team who continue to deliver the best care to our returning travellers and who are at the forefront of keeping us safe.
It goes without saying but thank you!
The Gannet story continues
It was a very moving service at Gannet House where we said goodbye to some of the residents who have sadly passed away over 2020/2021.
It is clear that each and every resident that we said goodbye to has left a significant mark on the story of Gannet House – a home to many.
Fittingly, a candle was lit for each resident, to remember their contribution to Gannet House.
