I wanted to take the time to say a big thank you for your care of Jim Gordy over the past few months at Dolphin House.
Before being in palliative care and when Pop felt well enough we were allowed to bring him out onto the grass outside the facility (in his bed) so he could have a cuddle with Laci.
The photo attached was taken on Mother’s Day when we all huddled around a makeshift picnic table and spent the time as a family.
I sent this onto the Queensland Health social media team and this photo was published on their Facebook and Instagram pages. You can see the post here. It was coincidental timing with the post being published on Saturday morning and Pop passing away that evening – maybe he just wanted his few hours of fame…
We, as a family, really appreciate all the support, time and effort you took with the care of Pop – even letting his pupperino Laci come up on the veranda when Pop wasn’t well enough to go down to the grass.
It was really nice feeling and so welcomed knowing Pop was as comfortable as could be.
I thought a lot of your staff might get a kick out of this post and photo, in particular Bruce and Ganesh (or Dennis as Pop referred to him as).
