Community and Oral Health brought home three Metro North’s Australia Day Achievement Awards.

A/Executive Director, Glynis Schultz said the awards celebrated some of the heroes of the directorate and thanked those who had taken the time to nominate their peers.

“We see in these awards that it’s not just always about clinicians too, with operational teams featuring prominently.”

Catherine Walsh, Food Production and Distribution Supervisor at the Brighton Health Campus was recognised for an extraordinary commitment to compassion, kindness, teamwork and integrity and her determination to improve patient experiences and meals.

The Cooinda House Nursing Team received their award for their passion to making a difference to people’s lives in residential aged care through their rapid independent upskilling, responsiveness to patients’ needs and commitment to Metro North values.

Joe Chawalczak and Ronald Aquilina are gardeners at the Brighton Health Campus. Their award celebrated their respect towards everyone – and dedication to keeping the campus gardens beautiful for all to enjoy.

Glynis said a special mention also went to Safety and Quality Nursing Director, Michelle Kane, a shortlisted finalist for the awards.
