State School pop ups see sports stars visit

Metro North staff from far and wide came together to run a number of vaccination pop-up clinics at state schools in November  where they were joined by sporting stars from the Queensland Reds and Brisbane Broncos.

You can’t keep the Christmas spirit down

It’s been a busy year, but all of our favourate Christmas decorators came out yet again to deck the halls with holly.

Here are the Christmas Decoration Competition Winners for 2021. Congratulations!

Our favourite fashions on the field photo from the Cup

It seems a long time ago, but this Melbourne Cup photo was an absolute cracker that we had to include from one of our favourite oral health clinics.

Vaccination clinics change stride

As the borders open in Queensland, the focus of our vaccination clinics has shifted to booster shots and vaccinations for children.

Thank you to all the staff from our vaccination clinics who came together as part of the push throughout the year to get the majority of our adult population vaccinated.

Volunteer Christmas Party

It was a very special Volunteer Christmas Party this year when our volunteers were given their new Community and Oral Health Volunteer Shirts featuring  the Better Together artwork.

We also  acknowledged many of our longstanding volunteers including Marie Ellsworth who has been a volunteer with us for 30 years. Wow!

New exercise physiologist joins the team

Last month we welcomed the newest member of the diabetes team, Exercise Physiologist Adrian Draper. Adrian has accepted a shared position with the diabetes team, as well as the complex chronic disease team.

Adrian comes to us with recent experience working as an exercise physiologist in private practice with clients who have multiple comorbidities including:

  • Type 1 Diabetes
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • COPD
  • HTN
  • CAD
  • Autism
  • Osteoarthritis.

Compliment of the month – Caboolture Oral Health Clinic

“In these difficult times, the message I’m sending you is long overdue but it is to thank you all, on behalf of my family and myself, for the kindly and professional attention you have given us over many years.

Your administration staff have always been understanding if, for personal reasons, we have had to request a change in appointment time.

The receptionists at Caboolture are always pleasant and welcoming, which is very much appreciated. The dental lads and lasses all show professional pride in what they achieve for their patients’ comfort.

So, thank you again, and stay healthy!”

FAST FACTS – Oral Health

Each year we see around 55,000 eligible adults at our General Practice Oral Health clinics in Redcliffe, Caboolture, Sandgate, Pine Rivers, Stafford and by the rural and remote team.
