Ensuring staff feel valued – Reina Veivers – HIGHLY COMMENDEDReina Veivers is an asset to our COH Speech Pathology Team and her multidisciplinary Complex Chronic Disease Team. She exemplifies all of the Metro North Values in Action, but in particular, high performance.

Community and Oral Health Director of Speech Pathology Kate Hacking said this year Reina had taken on the role of Clinical Council Chair for COH and was performing her duties in this role to a very high standard.

“In performing this role, together with her senior speech pathology role, she has actively contributed to a positive and welcoming workplace where people feel valued,” Kate said.

“She does this by her active, but respectful contribution to her team meetings, her commitment to staff/student supervision and support and by leading portfolios in her respective teams.

“She holds the Speech Pathology Allied Health Assistant portfolio and is completing a Calderdale Framework project for this body of work.

“She has been involved in numerous quality improvement projects in her CCDT Speech Pathology team, including a couple, which have actively encouraged a culture of partnership across the services and facilities.”

These include the vocal cord dysfunction pathway and head and neck cancer pathway. These projects have led to a more streamlined and cohesive patient experience across Metro North facilities.

“They have also encouraged increased staff collaboration and networking across Metro North facilities,” Kate said. “She holds the communicating for safety and partnering with consumers portfolios for CCDT and leads actions from these portfolios to a very high standard.”

“Reina is quiet achiever and an outstanding member the COH community. Reina is a true high performer and is a very worthy nominee for a staff excellence award.”
