Delivering oral health care with compassion – Stafford Dental Clinic – WINNERThe Stafford Dental Clinic have been continually demonstrating a high level of teamwork and high performance. 

General Practice Oral Health Service Dental Officer Dr Jacinta (Cindy) Jackson said they continually demonstrate respect, teamwork, compassion, high performance, and integrity. 

“The Stafford Dental Team comprises administration officers, dental assistants, dentists, prosthetist, student dental assistants and dental students,” she said. 

“They deliver high quality oral health care for clients enhanced by the selfless teamwork, compassion, and high performance of clinical teams to achieve high quality outcomes for eligible clients. 

“They deliver high performance achieved through the compassion and teamwork of the staff, rapidly assisting teams when they are running late or challenged by difficult procedures/treatment requirements. 

Other ways the crew demonstrates excellence: 

  • The team’s positive and enthusiastic vibe make the clinic a welcoming environment for staff and clients.  
  • Clients often comment on the happy and positive atmosphere at Stafford that then assists in reducing the anxiety of clients regarding their treatment needs. 
  • Learning culture supported throughout the clinic to enable dentists to discuss cases with more experience colleagues and learning culture also demonstrated via the training and mentoring of TAFE dental students and UQ dental students. The learning culture provides a collegiate atmosphere and enables improved client outcomes through the discussion of case management and treatment options.  
  • Additional patients that require treatment managed by clinicians who are running early or have had cancellations to prevent additional pressure on the clinical team.  
  • Importance of celebration of significant milestones and events further promote the positive culture and atmosphere of teamwork.  
  • Many patients prepared to travel significant distances to Stafford as they are very happy with the treatment provided and the manner in which it is delivered.
