The busier our hospital gets, the more important it becomes for us all to remember to celebrate the good things, the small things, and the big things. They all matter, especially when we’re under pressure.

The good news is that we have a lot to be celebrating.

Our medical education team has had two great successes recently, with the accreditation of the Emergency Department as a provider of advance training, and our expected accreditation of our junior medical officer training program. It’s a great credit to all involved.

At this year’s Length of Service Awards, we’ve celebrated the dedication and service of more than 200 hospital staff – including some for 40 and 45 years of service. Make sure you read more about that celebration in this month’s newsletter.

On the COVID-19 front, we can all feel proud of the great work we’re doing for our community. Our vaccination clinic is now working six days a week, providing over 200 vaccinations each day. Dr Alan Yan and Clinical Council have also arranged a guest lecture series to help us all better understand vaccine hesitancy among our community – and ways we can encourage patients, and those around us to come forward for vaccination.

Our philanthropic partnership with the RBWH Foundation, Raise it for Redcliffe, is going from strength to strength. You can read more about Dr Joel Dulhunty’ s Ride for Redcliffe in this month’s newsletter.

By the time the Have Your Say Staff Survey closed, a record 45% of the hospital had taken part – providing responses that will help us make it even better to work at Redcliffe and with Metro North Health. We look forward to sharing the results and analysis in August.

And, even as busy as our hospital has been, our National Reconciliation Week activities were as important as ever – with our Raising of the Flags ceremony, Yarning Circles, and a new gallery of painted rocks created by staff and patients for the MBICC garden.

Thankyou to everyone who has been bringing their A-game so far this winter.
