Raise it for Redcliffe Hospital’s first-ever Giving Day has raised more than $170,000 to support projects at the hospital.
Redcliffe Hospital Executive Director Louise Oriti said that Redcliffe Hospital Giving Day had truly been a whole of community celebration of our hospital.
“Raise it for Redcliffe Hospital received donations big and small from our community, and it’s been heart-warming to see the depth of that support and generosity,” Louise said.
“We had terrific support from community institutions like our local council, our local community radio station Bridge FM, and the local paper the Dolphins News. That support made Giving Day an event that reached far beyond the hospital and into the wider community.
“On the day itself, we had dozens of staff wearing the Raise it for Redcliffe red shirts, making and taking calls and donations over the phone. We had the big bake sale at the front of the hospital, thanks to Allied Health and Jacqui Nix, and the food trucks outside West Block added to the fun and atmosphere of the day too.
One of the highlights of Giving Day has been the Giving Tree in the hospital foyer, donated by Nursing Director Sally Jones and her family. That tree is covered in messages of gratitude from patients and visitors – all sharing their support for our hospital.
“Thank you once again to everyone who made Giving Day such a huge success – from staff who made donations through to those who organised activities and fundraisers on the day.”
Raise it for Redcliffe Hospital is a philanthropic partnership between Redcliffe Hospital and the RBWH Foundation.
