Our hospital community has been full of life these past weeks. In this edition of Get Redi, you can see lots of examples of how far we’ve come and how well we’ve adapted to our new normal. Adapting to COVID-19 has been difficult, but we’re still celebrating the big things, the small things, and the good things – they all matter.
Redcliffe Hospital Giving Day
It was one of the biggest events of our hospital year, and it was a bigger success than anyone could have hoped for. Redcliffe Hospital Giving Day raised more than $170,000, smashing through our fundraising target of $100,000. Redcliffe Hospital Giving Day was a whole of community celebration of our hospital, and we’re truly grateful to our community, our staff, and our philanthropic partners from the RBWH Foundation for helping us to Raise it for Redcliffe Hospital.
Redcliffe Hospital Auxiliary AGM
For more than 50 years now, the Redcliffe Hospital Auxiliary has supported our patients and raised money to support our hospital. When the Auxiliary held their AGM this year, and we were there to celebrate with them this fantastic milestone. Make sure you read more about the Auxiliary in this edition.
#IamRedcliffe Thank You lunch
With some help from QSuper, we were able to provide a COVID-safe alternative with a special #IamRedcliffe Thank You lunch. It was just a small way of showing our appreciation to everyone for having worked so hard over the winter months. It was also another example of how, with some good planning, we can get back to doing the things that are important in a COVID-safe way.
Redcliffe Research Symposium
COVID-19 didn’t get in the way of our Redcliffe Research Symposium either. Dr Joel Dulhunty and his research team put on another great event, making the most of online streaming to spread the reputation of research at Redcliffe further than ever before. This year was the fifth Research Symposium, and we can have every confidence that next year’s will be bigger and even better. You can read more about the symposium in this edition, along with details of Dr Pat Carroll’s Research Excellence Award.
Stroke Foundation Award
Lastly, some more good news – our hospital was one of only four in Queensland and 13 across Australia to be recognised by the Stoke Foundation with an Excellence Award for 2021.
There’s a lot of good things happening at Redcliffe Hospital. As we continue to learn to live with COVID-19, we’ll continue to celebrate to good things, the small things, the big things – they all matter.
