Redcliffe Hospital staff are the first in Metro North to show off the health service’s new-look ID cards.

The new design ID cards will soon also be rolled out across Community and Oral Health, with Caboolture and TPCH to follow later this year.

Facility Services Director Janene Farr said the new-look cards were issued for the first time at Redcliffe in February, with nursing graduates among the first to receive them.

“Existing staff are also being issued the new ID cards when their cards expire, or they need a replacement,” Janene said.

Janene encouraged everyone to check the expiration date on their ID cards and make arrangements for a replacement if ID cards were damaged or difficult to read.

“If your ID card has stickers on it or has the name or photo scratched out, it must be replaced now.”

“It’s a requirement that everyone wears their ID card when at work and that the ID card can be read by staff and patients.”

Redcliffe Hospital Executive Director Louise Oriti said that staff ID cards were an essential part of keeping patients and each other safe and secure.

“Your ID card is not just your key to the building; it’s also the way that you show our patients that you can be trusted and that you’re accountable for the care you’re providing,” Louise said.
