I really look forward to connecting with the community of Metro North Mental Health as we strive together to create excellence in service delivery.

I really look forward to connecting with the community of Metro North Mental Health as we strive together to create excellence in service delivery.

We would like to welcome Michelle Sanders to the executive position of Director of Recovery.

I am pleased to be taking up the opportunity of an 11-month secondment with Metro North Mental Health as Acting Director of Recovery, backfilling for Lisa Jones. I have previously been working for 17 years with Gold Coast Mental Health and Specialist Services in a variety of lived experience (peer) positions and currently hold the substantive position of team leader there. I will work from Monday to Thursday as the A/Director of Recovery based at Lawrence House, Cartwright Street, Windsor.

My passion is lived experience (peer) workforce development focusing on training and supervision of Peer Workers. I have been involved with the evolution of peer and carer peer workforce in Queensland beginning as a consumer representative over 25 years ago with the Rockhampton Consumer Advisory Group. I have been very fortunate in the opportunities afforded to me as I have explored many facets of Lived Experience work in the community and within public Mental Health and AODS services.

I really look forward to connecting with the community of Metro North Mental Health as we strive together to create excellence in service delivery.
