Interpreter Services team member Corynn organised the fundraising event complete with baked goods, a sausage sizzle, raffles and of course, gorgeous guide dog pups Michael and Ayla.
Guide Dogs Queensland provide support to members of the community who are blind or vision impaired so they can maintain their independence. While the organisation is traditionally known for their iconic guide dogs, they also provide a wide range or services including occupational therapy and counselling.
More than 90 per cent of Guide Dogs Queensland funding is generated via fundraising, so it was an easy cause for the team to get behind.
Manager Administration and Compliance Services Glenn McDonald said the event was a huge success.
“We raised more than $1,500 for Guide Dogs Queensland on the day, with more donations received directly to their website,” Glenn said.
“It’s been amazing to see the joy these puppies can bring, and it’s great to see people enjoying the outdoors and some home cooked baking.”
A big thanks to the staff who assisted with the event or attended on the day.
