On Friday 5 May, RBWH celebrated National Administrative Professionals Day and thanked the administration team for their vital contribution to the hospital. Every day, RBWH’s 1,100 administration staff display expertise, flexibility, and commitment to their roles.
As part of the celebrations, the inaugural Administration Box Challenge was held, where teams of four were challenged to assemble and stack the Medical Records archive boxes as quickly as possible. It was stiff competition, with five teams signing up for their chance to win. The competitors got into the spirit with team costumes, including a teams dressed as characters from television series ‘The Office’, minions, angels and ninjas. The Medical Records Minions team took out the top prize, while the Cancer Care Angels won best dressed. All administration staff were also treated to a free coffee as a thank you from the Administration Service line.
RBWH Director Administration Services Kristy Jackman said RBWH employs more than 1,100 administration professionals who play a vital role in patient care and ensure our clinical teams can focus on their clinical duties.
“From the Switchboard Services team who manages and directs over one million calls every year, to our medical records team who have scanned 10,641,298 pages of clinical information into ieMR over the past 12 months, our hospital could not run without our highly skilled administration professionals,” Kristy said.
“Thank you to all administration staff for all that you do.”
