The pitter patter of little paws around RBWH means just one thing – the wonderful therapy dogs are visiting once more!

Funded by RBWH Foundation through its 2019-2020 Royal Giving Day distributions, these specially trained volunteers and their pet dogs give their time and commitment to visit patients every week.

“Being in hospital can often be a stressful and lonely time, especially if your family lives some distance from Brisbane. That’s why RBWH Foundation works closely with RBWH to help create a warm and comforting patient experience through a range of initiatives,” said Foundation CEO Simone Garske.

“A visit from one of these wonderful therapy dogs can make a huge difference to a patient’s day.

“The Delta therapy dogs are one of the many patient friendly initiatives that RBWH Foundation takes great pride in supporting and it’s wonderful to think these funds were a direct result of our inaugural Royal Giving Day.”

RBWH Foundation’s Royal Giving Day raises much-needed funds for cutting edge medical and clinician-led research, evidence-based patient care, RBWH healthcare heroes, latest equipment and other initiatives.

“The day is all about Queenslanders helping Queenslanders by giving to the hospital that has helped birth their babies, cared for loved ones or saved their own lives,” said Simone.

Preparations are well underway for Royal Giving Day 2021 on Wednesday June 23, when Team Royal can once more join forces with the Foundation to help Raise it for the Royal.
