Leading international researchers in artificial intelligence, machine learning and data sharing toured RBWH on Thursday 30 March to inspect the cutting-edge services and facilities available to the community, clinicians, and researchers.

Experts from Nottingham University and Emory University were in Brisbane to take part in a three-day workshop on federated learning’ – where researchers in future will use artificial intelligence and machine learning to collaborate safely and securely without the need to exchange local data.

The workshop was hosted by UQ’s Queensland Digital Health Centre (QDHeC). QDHeC is leading digital health research to accelerate learning and speed up the translation of research findings into clinical practice.

QDHeC is led by Associate Professor Clair Sullivan, who is also a Consultant Endocrinologist based at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Clinical Informatics Director, Research at Metro North Health.
