RBWH Administration Officer Randall Bell retired on 15 December 2022, ending an 86-year history of the Bell family working at the hospital.

Randall dedicated 34 years of his life to his work at RBWH, most recently within Women’s and Newborn Services. He commenced his career at the PA Hospital in 1979 and worked for Queensland Health for 43 years in total.

Randall’s dad, Graham Bell, also worked as an administration officer at RBWH. He commenced his work here in 1936 before going to war, before returning and meeting his wife and Randall’s mother Nancy who was working in the Pay Office at the time.

Randall was well known around the hospital by many staff and is best known for his role as the Interviewing Officer issuing Death Certificates, which he did for 13 years.

Thank you, Randall, for your dedication to RBWH and happy retirement!
