The RBWH Book Club is in full swing after launching in January this year.
The group reads and discussed a new book every eight weeks, providing ample time for the busy members to complete the chosen novel. At the end of each eight-week block, the group gets together in the evening via Teams for a lively and fun discussion.
Currently, there are 38 book club members, with some choosing to join the Teams discussion and others preferring to submit their thoughts on the book via email.
RBWH Wellness Coordinator Liz Crowe said the book club aims to create a sense of community among staff and provide common ground for conversation, irrespective of age or occupation.
“Reading a book gives people something other than COVID to talk about in the tea room, and provides an escape from our busy lives,” Liz said.
“When COVID restrictions lift, we hope to provide face-to-face meeting opportunities for those who are interested.
“There’s always room for more members!”
