Hi Team Royal,
I am so proud to see the way you have responded to the most recent COVID-19 lockdown and the ongoing resilience you continue to demonstrate. The past month has been particularly difficult for RBWH, with a large number of our staff going into home isolation as close contacts of known COVID cases. Despite this, teams have rallied together to ensure our hospital can continue to provide the world-class healthcare our community relies on us for. Well done.
It can be difficult to stay positive during times of uncertainty, but I wanted to remind you all of the important role you play in Queensland’s COVID-19 response and how valued you are, not just by us but by the entire community. Whether you are in a patient-facing or support role, we couldn’t do it without you.
Despite everything that is going on, there is still much to celebrate in this issue of News at the Royal. Read on to find out about the range of benefits resulting from our new partnership with Kelvin Grove State College. Find out about how RBWH staff are going above and beyond to help educate regional Queensland health professionals and learn about the NICU’s new Little Royal Readers program.
Join us as we celebrate RBWH’s many achievements at the Metro North Research Excellence Awards and welcome our brand-new Trauma Ward. We also say thank you and goodbye to long-term RBWH employee Marissa Bartlett, and much more.
Enjoy the newsletter.
Until next month,
Gillian Nasato
