Professor Lipman receives ESICM Honorary Membership

Professor Jeffrey Lipman recently received an Honorary Membership to the European Society of Intensive Medicine (ESICM) at the ESICM Live Digital 2020 conference.

Honorary Memberships are awarded to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the Society or to the specialty of intensive care medicine, with only a few Honorary Memberships awarded each year. View the presentation. Congratulations Professor Lipman.

Buy a Bauble wrap-up

The 2020 Buy a Bauble campaign, run by the RBWH Social Work Department, was a huge success yet again! The team raised $1,100 in total thanks to the generosity of Team Royal staff. The money was used to purchase Kmart gift carts which were distributed to women and children fleeing from domestic violent in refuge at Christmas time. Well done Social Work team!

2133 cheers for the Miss a Meal for Malnutrition team!

Well done to the Nutrition and Dietetics Team who raised $2,133 for the annual Foodbank Hunger Drive! Thanks to their hard work and the generosity of Team Royal, more than 4,266 meals can now be provided to Queenslanders in need.

RBWH Senior Dietitian Cindy Jennings said that the organising team are proud to have exceeded their 2020 target of $2,000.

“The Miss a Meal for Malnutrition campaign was all about raising awareness of patients who ‘miss meals’ for a variety of reasons, contributing to poor nutrition in hospital, while also raising money for the Food Bank Hunger Drive,” she said.

“Next year we will be aiming even higher!”
