Professor Lipman receives highest honor
Professor Jeffery Lipman AM has recently received his Doctor of Medicine – Research from the University of Queensland (UQ). This degree is viewed as one of UQ’s highest awards and recognises a lifetime of outstanding work.
This incredible achievement involved Professor Lipman collating and presenting 129 of his internationally peer reviewed published articles into a single theme – Refining ß-Lactam dosing in the ICU for better efficiency. This work was completed over a 15-20 year period, so it was no easy feat. One of the requirements for the degree is that nothing from a prior degree can be used including the work on his thesis completed in his RBWH Director of ICU role, adding another layer of complexity to this achievement.
The award provides international peer acknowledgement of the great work that is happening within the RBWH ICU, and of course, Professor Lipman’s work there. Congratulations Professor Lipman on this great honour.
Operating Theatre team excels
The RBWH Operating Theatres have recently been identified as an HRT exemplar for on time theatre stats!
The team are leaders in the space across Australia and New Zealand. RBWH Assistant Nursing/Midwifery Director Elizabeth Strathdee was recently invited to present at the Top 3 Webinar, where she identified the contributing factors to RBWH’s fantastic performance.
This is an amazing achievement and a great example of how a well-functioning team can excel.
