In October, RBWH celebrated National Safe Work Month, a time to reflect and reinvigorate our commitment to the safety and wellbeing of our dedicated workforce.
Throughout the month, RBWH Health and Safety Services collectively engaged with workers at morning tea events, creating a positive atmosphere for workers to interact, participate in some exciting safety activities and games.
An educational game called Spot the Hazard was rolled out across the hospital to raise awareness about some common hazards that could exist in our workplace. Health and Safety Services were happy to see a high level of participation, which speaks to a well evolved safety culture within RBWH.
By focusing on safety, we not only reduce the risk of accidents and injuries, but also foster a culture of awareness and responsibility where RBWH staff become safety ambassadors, advocating for a secure workplace and inspiring others to do the same.
As Safe Work month is now over, it is vital to emphasize that safety is not a one-time event, but an ongoing commitment. All staff are encouraged to carry the lessons learned and the newfound awareness into your daily work routines. By doing so, we can ensure that safety remains at the core of our operations, protecting both our employees and the future of our organisation.
Thank you to all staff who participated in Safe Work Month. Let us keep our focus on safety, all year round!
