On Thursday 9 September, RBWH turned their thoughts to the importance of mental health for RUOK? Day.
Staff from across the hospital dressed in yellow, hosted morning teas with their teams, visited the Pharmacy RUOK? Day stall and joined a 5km group walk, all while asking their colleagues that golden question – ‘Are you ok?’ The theme of this years’ day was “There’s more to ask after RUOK?”, and encourages people to delve a bit deeper to ensure their family, friends, colleagues and even strangers are doing ok.
Remember, life’s ups and downs happen to all of us. So chances are someone you know might be struggling. Your genuine support can make a difference whatever they are facing, big or small.
So, don’t wait until someone is visibly distressed or in crisis. Make a moment meaningful and ask them how they’re really going. Every day is the day to ask “RUOK?”
