Carolyn ListerOn the 30 June 2020, our Surgical and Perioperative Services colleague Carolyn Lister tragically died on her way to work. Carolyn worked within this service for over 20 years and in more recent years, she joined the education team to impart her experience and knowledge to the new generation of perioperative nurses. Carolyn also worked with the Australian Defence Force.

Carolyn and her husband John were avid travellers and cycled and hiked throughout the world. Recently she took up competitive cycling and quickly became successful in the sport.

Surgical and Perioperative services would like to thank all RBWH staff for the support they received following Carolyn’s death. We would like to acknowledge the care packages received from ICU, ETC, Palliative Care, Logan Hospital Emergency Department, Gold Coast University Hospital Emergency Department and the Queensland Children’s Hospital ED.

Carolyn is missed by her colleagues, her student nurses, and by all who her knew her.
