Team Royal has been getting their steps in and making new friends along the way as part of the new RBWH Walking Group.
The walking group commenced in August this year and meets every Monday and Thursday at 5pm for a 6km walk.
RBWH Staff Wellbeing Officer Liz Crowe said the goal of the group is to build our community and introduce people who usually would never cross paths in their day-to-day jobs.
“We have people of all ages, all levels of fitness and from every discipline turning up to the group,” she said.
“Some attendees have come along not anticipating being able to make the 6kms, but have been really thrilled to finished and feel okay. The walk is very flat and the time goes very quickly because we talk the whole way!
“We have approximately 20 regulars and would love to welcome more people to the group. It’s become a really fantastic way to let go of the working day and have a laugh.”
The RBWH Walking Group is hoping to extend the walks to one Sunday per month in 2022 where they will meet somewhere for a walk and have breakfast together after.
