For the first time ever, we are excited to announce the winners of the STARS Monthly Awards.
If you missed the launch of the awards, the STARS Monthly Awards will showcase our #WeAreSTARS Behaviours and formally acknowledge our staff who exemplify these behaviours.
Each month there will be two award winners: one winner of the Peer Nominated STARS Award and one winner of the Consumer choice STARS Award. Both winners will win a food/drinks voucher and will be the rightful owners of the STARS perpetual trophy for that month.
The winners are announced here in the STARS Gazer newsletter each month.
The winner of this month’s Peer Nominated STARS Award is Louise Wilson!
Louise is an acting Nurse Educator in Procedural Services and was nominated five times by her colleagues. Louise’s colleagues said she consistently demonstrated two of the We are STARS Behaviours: help others to succeed, ‘your success is my success’ and share my knowledge and take the time to learn together.
Here are some of the reasons Louise’s colleagues thought she was worthy of an award:
- Louise’s clinical skills, knowledge, professionalism and educational input have been an asset to the unit. Each working day she strives to be the best version of herself and this positivity, striving for excellence and professionalism infuses the workplace.
- With regards to patients she provides care that is compassionate, understanding and promotes patient’s agency in making decisions regarding their treatment.
- Works very hard to ensure a positive work environment and learning space goes above and beyond to create stimulating learning experience through hands on learning in creative informative ways.
The winner of this month’s Consumer Choice Award is Abbey Rawkins!
Abbey is a Registered Nurse, also from Procedural Services, and was nominated by a patient for her efficiency, courtesy, respect and care.
In the patient’s words: I appreciated the respect and courtesy I experienced for the duration of my eye procedure on Level 2. The efficiency and caring by all staff I encountered was excellent.
Congratulations to Louise and Abbey!
And a special thanks to Herbert and Bramston and The Botanist for generously donating vouchers to our winners.
