- better financial performance
- better service delivery outcomes
- higher levels of innovation
- more employees advocating for their organisation
- lower rates of absenteeism
- employee well-being
- better staff retention
- fewer workplace related accidents.

Why is this important and what’s my role?
Everyone has a right to feel safe and respected at work. Our patients and their families don’t just watch how we treat them, they watch how we treat each other. We all have a role to play in living out the values of Metro North Health. As a manager you have an even greater responsibility to lead by example. You should manage staff in a way that aligns with Metro North Health’s values. The Micro Skills resources are designed to help you do this.
What do I need to do?
Make sure your decisions and behaviour always align with the values of Metro North Health. You should not only model the values yourself but make sure your staff do as well. When someone’s not adhering to the Metro North Health values you need to address their behaviour promptly, respectfully and with compassion, and support them to meet the standard expected of all employees.
