Finding the best way to support you

Recognising the link between positive organisational culture and patient safety, Metro North Health has a strategic imperative to address ‘our people’s wellbeing’ through new and current programs. Ensuring and enhancing our staff’s wellbeing is a priority at Metro North. Our dedicated staff psychologists collaborate within a comprehensive support network, including Peer Responders and the Employee Assistance Program offered by TELUS Health. Our team delivers confidential psychological support pathways and consultations to both individuals and teams, ensuring comprehensive care and fostering a supportive work environment.

    Why speak to a psychologist?

Engaging with a psychologist can be highly beneficial for both individuals and teams. Psychologists offer practical strategies designed to optimise potential, enhance resilience and manage distress more effectively in both professional and personal contexts. By working with a psychologist, you and your team can develop the skills required to navigate challenges, improve overall wellbeing and achieve greater success and satisfaction in all areas of life.

What services are available to staff?

Metro North provides a range of services to support staff wellbeing. Individual sessions, focussed on work related concerns, are available via Microsoft Teams and telephone, as well as limited face-to-face opportunities. Additionally, we offer workshops, educational sessions, and team debriefing sessions to promote mental health and resilience in the workplace.

Metro North Staff Psychology Service is dedicated to supporting the well-being, resilience, and performance of individuals and teams. The service is organised into five key focus areas, each designed to address specific needs:

    • Brief, solution-focused support (up to three sessions).
